The Marquette University Golden Eagles faced a challenging match against the Purdue University Northwest Pride on the evening of December 5th, 2025. The game, which was held at the Ponds of Brookfield, ended in a 5-2 victory for the Pride.
The Pride came out strong, firing 55 shots at the Golden Eagles’ net. The Golden Eagles responded with 43 shots of their own, but the Pride’s defense and goalie, Luka Krstulovich, proved too strong to overcome. Krstulovich finished the game with an impressive 41 saves.
Despite the high shot count, both teams struggled to capitalize on their powerplays. The Pride went 0 for 7, while the Golden Eagles were 0 for 6. The Golden Eagles’ goalie, Daniel Leger, put up a valiant effort with 50 saves, but the team ultimately fell short.
Pride’s #71 Pellegrino Pescatore and Golden Eagles’ #29 Jack Rose each scored a goal in the game, providing some of the match’s most exciting moments.
The Golden Eagles will have another shot at the Pride on December 6th, this time at the Kube Sports Complex in Indiana. The team will be looking to bounce back and secure a win in this away game. Stay tuned for more updates on the Golden Eagles’ season.
